I don't know you and I'm just now learning about your ultimate sacrifice for a cause you believed in through Velcrow Ripper's Fierce Light depiction of his journey and I want to say thank you for your sacrifice and that I admire you tremendously. Love, -Nakhone Keodara

Brad was a friend of mine in the late 90s in the East Village. We played and sang a lot of good folk music together---good protest music! I miss him---but his spirit carries on.

I read Brad's story in Rolling Stone back in 2006. He's an inspiring individual and sought to change things for the better. I'm in my third year of journalism school and am doing a presentation on Brad for one of my reporting classes. I think it's important to show a different perspective rather than just another stereotypical journalist. This site is great-- it keeps his idea's and accomplishments on the forefront of everyone's mind.

What I remember first about Brad is him playing guitar and making up funny and clever songs about social justice and protest at a roof party in New York. I eventually left New York and, after many months on the other side of the world and not checking the NYC Indymedia site at all, I suddenly had the urge to see what was posted. It was then that I learned that Brad had been injured just hours before. For me, Brad's death has been a painful lesson about the very real dangers faced by anyone who cares about social justice as passionately as Brad did. Those dangers are reduced, if ever and at all, only by the company and witness of others, by the solidarity and commitment of the many. In honor of Brad's life and work, may we stick together, press forward, work hard, sing and smile, and never waste a single moment.
