I'm a journalist, my Father Jesús H. Tamez was a great journalist and historian, my Uncle Albert Wilson was a very good journalist working for AP, my Uncle Erasmo Hernández was a journalist and poet with Pancho Villa's campaign, my Great Grand Father Isidro & Brother Santiago were very important journalists in México's XIX Century...I've worked all my life in this...My Brother Alex died at the age of 22, so I send all my feelings of love and compassion to the Family of the grate journalist Brad Will, I really feel the pain in my heart. The moment I came across an article about Brad in a recent issue of Rolling Stone Magazine, I had been instantly struck by his story. The selfless nature which embodied his actions is a true testament to activism. It so happened that I discovered the article this past summer, while contemplating the issue of my academic future. I intended on enrolling to Allegheny College in the fall of 2008, but was unsure about the decision. To my utter disbelief, I learned that Brad had attended the same small college in Meadville Pa. My encouragement soared with this new knowledge, and with the hope that my life may one day improve social conditions and injustice in today's society. I write to you now, in my dorm room, a freshman at the very school brad attended 16 years ago. His relentless spirit and legacy will forever inspire the art of activism in my life.

I had the fortune of meeting Brad in Boulder, CO thru some mutual friends he had at Allegheny. Always the trooper for a cause and willing to protest or promote for anything he felt needed his support; Brad had tremendous ideals & a very positive attitude. He was a kind and giving person and even though he left us at the ripe age of 36 he left a true legacy that will never be forgotten.

this man changed my life. he opened my eyes. there are no words to describe how i feel about him as a person, what he did, and what he stood for. i would have done anything to have spoken with brad... to ask him how he did it. how he had the courage, the fearlessness, the drive. i would have asked him to tell me how to follow in his footsteps... where to begin. if only i could have followed in his...
